Kempower customer Electrada is revolutionizing fleet electrification across North America

Kempower chargers have been incorporated into a first-of-its-kind electrification center for electric vehicle (EV) fleets in Mount Holly, North Carolina. The Fleet Mobility Microgrid, operated by Duke Energy and Electrada, is the first in the country to provide a zero-emission, carbon-free microgrid option for fleet charging.

The facility is a model for fleet electrification, offering efficient infrastructure designed to support a wide range of EVs, from light- to heavy-duty fleets. Commercial fleets are anticipated to become the largest DC charging segment in the market by 2030.

Kempower’s NEVI-compliant charging solution, featuring four Kempower satellites, supplies advanced DC fast-charging technology to the site. The project addresses the growing need for sustainable transportation and is set to play a key role in supporting fleet electrification across North America.

The Fleet Mobility Microgrid will equip fleet operators to be more sustainable, cost-efficient, and strategic in their operation,” said Jed Routh VP of Markets and Products at Kempower. “We are proud to be a technology partner in this project as it paves the way for the future of electric vehicle charging.”

The Fleet Mobility Microgrid is a major advancement in fleet electrification. Powered by renewable energy, the microgrid supports businesses in meeting sustainability goals, lowering operational costs, and ensuring reliability and resiliency.

Electrada’s performance-based model guarantees stable energy costs and mitigates risks. As a technology partner, Kempower is proud to support driving this initiative forward, delivering scalable, accessible infrastructure designed to meet the increasing demands of electric fleets across North America.
