CALeVIP Funding 2026: What CPOs Need to Know About FCCP-2

CALeVIP FCCP-2 is a California funding opportunity for eligible public DC fast-charging projects. The next application window opens October 7, 2026, with at least $27.6 million available statewide and rebates of up to $100,000 per charging port.
For charge point operators planning new public charging sites in California, the program could significantly improve project economics — but project readiness will matter.
What is CALeVIP FCCP-2?
The Fast Charge California Project 2 (FCCP-2) provides incentives for eligible public EV fast-charging infrastructure in California. Projects can include between four and 20 charging ports, with incentive levels based on the guaranteed charging power available per port.
FCCP-2 funding can also support more than charging equipment. Eligible costs can include installation, design and engineering, extended OEM warranty, and qualifying networking and service agreements.
How much CALeVIP funding is available?
FCCP-2 offers:
- $55,000 per port for 150–274.99 kW
- $100,000 per port for 275 kW or higher
With up to 20 eligible ports per site, qualifying projects at the highest incentive tier could receive significant funding support
Who is FCCP-2 designed for?
FCCP-2 is focused on publicly accessible EV charging. Projects must meet program requirements related to site type, charging availability, power capacity, equipment eligibility and other project criteria. For California CPOs already developing public fast-charging sites, this makes FCCP-2 particularly relevant.
Why does Tier 1 readiness matter?
One of the most important elements of FCCP-2 is Tier 1 project readiness.
Only projects that meet the program’s Tier 1 requirements when they apply are eligible for funding. Because applications are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, CPOs should evaluate their project readiness well before the October 7 application opening.
Understanding those requirements early can help operators identify potential gaps before the funding window opens.
