Building infrastructure for real-world fleet demand
EV Realty is not focused on pilot sites. The company is developing large-scale, grid-connected charging hubs built for daily commercial operations. Their approach centers on understanding how fleets actually behave — and building infrastructure that adapts accordingly.
One example is their San Bernardino fleet hub in California. While significant in scale, the site represents something larger: EV Realty’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that matches operational reality. Designed to support high daily vehicle throughput, the hub reflects how quickly heavy-duty electrification is moving from ambition to execution. But for EV Realty, scale alone is not the story, flexibility is.
Distributed architecture that adapts in real time
As Will explains, Kempower’s distributed charging architecture enables EV Realty to dynamically move power from one vehicle to another in real time. If a truck needs 25 kW or 50 kW, that power can be delivered. If another vehicle requires significantly higher output, that can be delivered too — and everything in between.
For EV Realty, this flexibility is critical. Instead of locking fixed power to individual dispensers, distributed architecture allows power to follow fleet demand as it changes throughout the day. That adaptability supports utilization, reduces inefficiencies, and gives EV Realty confidence that they can serve different vehicle types and charging profiles within the same hub.
As Will puts it “there is nothing else in the market that moves power around like that — giving customers what they need, when they need it.“
Megawatt charging as an active deployment
Megawatt charging is often discussed as a future milestone. For EV Realty, it is part of their deployment roadmap now. Through their collaboration with Kempower, EV Realty will be among the first sites in North America to offer true 1.2 MW charging capability. The ability to combine dynamic distributed charging with megawatt-level capability reflects EV Realty’s strategy: build infrastructure that is ready for the vehicles fleets are adopting, not the vehicles of yesterday.
