Standout performance in North America reflects a 230% increase in revenue compared to last year
At Kempower, 2026 is off to a strong start, with overall performance and results outpacing the North American market. Kempower released the Interim Financial Report for the first quarter of 2026, reflecting disciplined execution and targeted investments in our technology, sales, and services.
In the first quarter, North American revenue tripled, a 230% year-over-year increase compared to Q1 2025. Order intake increased by 16% for both North America and Europe outside of the Nordics, contributing to a total of 69 million euros in Q1.
In North America, Kempower acquired four new customers and continued to differentiate our solutions in the market by advancing from pilot programs to real-world deployment.
In Q1, Kempower successfully completed the first real-world megawatt charging session at EV Realty’s San Bernardino truck charging hub. This accomplishment marked a major step forward for heavy-duty fleet electrification. We showcased this momentum and deepened relationships with charge point operators and fleet customers during EV Charging Summit & Expo in Las Vegas, with more to come at ACT Expo in May.
The North American market saw a slight decrease (1%) in new public DC charging point installations and a 27% decrease in new battery electric vehicle registrations – a result of the slowdown in electric vehiclepassenger car sales following the expiration of clean vehicle tax credits. With that in mind, the underlying demand for reliable, scalable EV charging infrastructure remains strong with support from federal and state programs such as the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program and California’s Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP). Both initiatives are actively distributing funds and will continue to drive the adoption of clean trucks and buses across market segments.
Most importantly, Kempower’s commitment to sustainability remained steadfast. The amount of energy charged through Kempower chargers increased by 104% to 311,830 MWh, advancing our goal of creating a cleaner environment.
We also celebrated the recognition of Kempower North America earning the 2026 North Carolina State Manufacturing Leadership Award for Sustainability, a direct result of our positive environmental impact across operations, production, and product design.
Additional Kempower Group Q1 key figures:
- Order intake increased by 16% to 69 million euros.
- Acquired eight new customers, four in North America.
- Revenue increased by 54% to 66.8 million euros.
Through focused organic growth and strategic execution, Kempower is well-positioned to continue this momentum in leading the transition to electrification.
