Kempower Engineers Help Local Seniors in Need: A Reflection

At Kempower, our commitment to the community goes beyond delivering cutting-edge charging solutions—we believe in giving back to the people around us.

This season, 15 members of our engineering team spent time volunteering at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina

Together, Kempowerians packed 360 boxes of food to support elderly individuals facing food insecurity through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), also known as the “Senior Food Box” program.

The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is one of the largest anti-hunger organizations in the United States, serving 34 counties across the state. With over 90 million meals distributed annually, the Food Bank plays a vital role in supporting food-insecure households—where one in seven people in our region, or over 500,000 individuals, struggle to access regular, nutritious meals.

A Cause Close to Home

At Kempower, our values: together, impact, integrity and courage, go hand in hand with contributing to causes that make a difference in our own backyard.

Meredith Biechele, Product Development Manager, reflected on the experience saying, “Rooting ourselves in the community is core to what we do. I was so grateful for this opportunity to grow closer to my team and my community.”

The engineering team was honored to play a part in packing these Senior Food Boxes, which will provide reliable nutrition throughout the month of September to those in need.

Justin Manuele, our Training Manager, shared, “It was fun to bond with co-workers outside of the normal office environment and do something good for the community; time well spent.”
