Kempower Engineers Participate as Judges at NC State’s 24th Annual First-Year Engineering Design Day

Durham, NC – (Thursday, April 18, 2024) Kempower, a leading provider of DC fast-charging Charging Satellites, proudly announces its active involvement as judges at the 24th Annual First-Year Engineering Design Day (FEDD) hosted by North Carolina State University (NC State).

The event took place on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, NC.

First-Year Engineering Design Day (FEDD) is an esteemed event where first-year engineering student teams exhibit their design projects for prestigious awards. The projects showcased during FEDD are a culmination of the students’ efforts throughout the academic year as part of the E 101 – Introduction to Engineering and Problem-Solving course. This event not only provides students with a platform to demonstrate their engineering prowess but also fosters collaborative learning and teamwork essential for success in the field.

Kempower engineers, recognizing the significance of nurturing budding talent and supporting the local engineering community, eagerly volunteered as judges for the competition.

This participation not only underscores Kempower’s commitment to promoting STEM education but also reflects its dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

“Volunteering as judges at NC State’s First-Year Engineering Design Day was an enriching experience for our team,” said Meredith Biechele, R&D Manager at Kempower North America. “Witnessing the creativity and ingenuity of the first-year students reaffirmed our belief in the power of engineering to drive positive change across North Carolina and the globe. We are proud to support initiatives like FEDD that inspire the next generation of engineers!”

The event not only provided an opportunity for Kempower engineers to contribute to the local engineering community but also served as a platform to showcase Kempower’s commitment to excellence in engineering.

“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in NC State’s First-Year Engineering Design Day,” said Morgan Rhein, Sales Applications Engineer. “As industry partner judges, we were impressed by the students’ innovative solutions and their ability to apply core engineering concepts to real-world problems. Engaging with the future leaders of our industry is an investment in tomorrow’s innovation, and we are honored to have been a part of this event.”

Kempower extends its gratitude to NC State University for organizing such a remarkable event and looks forward to continued collaboration in fostering the growth and development of aspiring engineers.
