Kempower’s fast charging technology delivered to new RIFIL charging stations for electric trucks and cars in Skåne, Sweden
Kempower’s charging equipment will be delivered by Scania Sweden to three new charging stations for the logistics company Falkenklev Logistik. The three new charging stations will charge heavy vehicles in Hörby, Höör, and Perstorp, in Skåne, Sweden. In addition to charging the logistics company’s own vehicles, the facilities will be made available to external passenger cars and trucks.
At each of the three locations, eight CCS2 charging plugs will be divided between four Kempower Satellites. These are connected to four Kempower Power Units, and are supported by Kempower ChargEye, a cloud-based data management solution for depots. Each CCS2 charger at the new stations will offer up to 350 kW for the growing number of battery-electric trucks for both commuter and long-distance transport.
The new stations will be part of Falkenklev Logistik’s charging network under the RIFIL brand. The new charging stations are also being built with the future in mind. The company sees that there are even further opportunities to build more RIFIL charging stations in Skåne in the coming years. The charging stations in Hörby, Höör and Perstorp are expected to be commissioned around the turn of the year 2023–2024. At each station, there will be opportunities to shop for food and drink, while charging is in progress.
Falkenklev Logistik is also planning its own solar park in Perstorp that will provide 1.5 MW of fossil-free energy to the charging station.
In 2022, the first RIFIL charging station in Malmö opened with 22 Kempower Satellite charging sockets adjacent to the logistics company’s depot. The charging park is the largest in Sweden for heavy vehicles and passenger cars. With Kempower’s fast chargers, self-generated electricity from solar cells, and its own battery storage in place, the electricity grid is stabilized, and the charging power is boosted. The RIFIL charging station in Malmö has also been highlighted as an example of a well-functioning charging point in a YouTube video by electric car influencer Peter Esse.
“Kempower’s charging solutions have been chosen because they work well, offer a very flexible system and meet the requirements we have for our charging infrastructure. We will also participate in training regarding the cloud service Kempower ChargEye to be able to use additional features, such as scheduling the charges during certain times of the day when, for example, the price of electricity is at its lowest,”
says Victor Falkenklev, CEO of Falkenklev Logistik.
“Thanks to this collaboration, Skåne will have an efficient network for charging electric trucks, which will facilitate the transition to fossil-free transport,” says Håkan Roupé, Scania Syd. “It opens up for new transports with a longer range and thus becomes a good alternative for more people.”
“We are extremely pleased to be able to continue to assist Scania Sweden and Falkenklev Logistik with our intelligent and scalable charging solutions. They will enable reliable and flexible charging of electric trucks and electric cars in the new locations,” says Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower.
Falkenklev Logistik establishes the new charging station in Perstorp with support from the Energy Agency and the stations in Hörby and Höör with support from Klimatklivet from 2022.
