FAQ
It is built around a separate Kempower Power Unit that converts AC to DC to match the EV’s battery voltage, then transfers DC charging power to multiple distributed Satellites, Pantographs or Control Units located up to 80 metres away from the Power Unit.
Kempower Satellites, Pantographs, Control Units, Cable Arms and Mega Satellites are all available as charging point options within the same distributed system.
The system supports up to 8 charging plugs, and up to 12 with a 450 kW or 600 kW Power Unit. Two Power Units can be connected in parallel for a maximum of 800 kW or 1,200 kW. With adaptive voltage enabled, the maximum is 6 charging points, or up to 9 when connected to a 450 kW or 600 kW Power Unit.
Yes. The Power Units use a modular rack-style design, so you can start at a lower power level and upgrade capacity later by adding power modules. This also gives flexibility in charging area topology and allows higher power levels through the number of Power Unit cabinets selected.
