Kempower partners with PESIN to accelerate EV charging infrastructure development in the Philippines

Manila, Philippines – The leading global DC fast-charging solutions provider, Kempower, has entered into a sales and service partnership agreement with PESIN, a well-established sales and service organization in the Philippines, to boost the country’s EV charging infrastructure

Under this partnership, PESIN becomes Kempower’s official sales and service partner in the Philippines, managing the distribution, installation, and maintenance of Kempower’s DC fast-charging solutions. As a pioneer in EV charging in the Philippines, PESIN is well-positioned to accelerate the country’s electrification journey. This agreement further strengthens their ability to deliver innovative and reliable DC fast-charging solutions to key segments such as charge point operators, fleet operators, and other businesses in the electric vehicle ecosystem.

The collaboration supports the Philippine government’s initiative to expand the adoption of EVs and related infrastructure, aiming to achieve ambitious sustainability targets. The Philippines has already made significant progress in this area, and the EV market is expected to grow substantially over the next decade, driven by favourable government incentives and increasing demand for clean energy solutions.

The Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), signed into law in April 2022 (Republic Act No. 11697), aiming to promote the adoption of EVs in the Philippines by providing incentives for EV manufacturers, importers, and users. This law outlines a Comprehensive Roadmap for the EV Industry (CREVI) to accelerate the development of charging infrastructure and support services.

The initial projects under this partnership with PESIN will focus on installations for the commercial sector, especially for fleets and public charging at sites such as petrol stations, featuring scalable charging solutions tailored to their specs. Kempower’s modular and scalable DC fast-charging solutions enable operators to start with a small investment and easily expand as EV adoption increases, optimizing both initial costs and long-term growth potential.

“This is another great milestone in Kempower’s development in South-East Asia! We are thrilled to partner with PESIN to roll out cutting-edge DC fast-charging solutions in the Philippines, as we foresee immense potential in this country. We remain committed to our mission of delivering reliable and scalable EV charging solutions, making EV adoption easier and more accessible for everyone, everywhere,” said Carlo Cecchi, Director, New Markets at Kempower.

Together, Kempower and PESIN aim Philippines’ transition to a more sustainable future by making EV charging accessible, reliable, and scalable.

“This partnership with Kempower is a game-changer for EV adoption in the Philippines,” said Engr. Justo M. Conde, II, CEO and President, PESIN. “Our goal is ambitious: to make the Philippines a leading EV hub in Asia. Kempower’s safe, reliable DC fast chargers are crucial for this, directly supporting the government’s EVIDA initiative for sustainable transport. We’re committed to widespread EV use from fleets to airports, seaports, and highways making a sustainable future real for all Filipinos.“
