Kempower strengthens its service capacities in Southeast Asia with a facility of its partner WBG in Malaysia
Kempower’s long-standing partner WBG has opened a new regional support facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to strengthen local engineering capabilities and improve technical support for Kempower’s charging solutions across Southeast Asia.
With this facility, WBG is now better positioned to provide faster response times, customised technical support and more flexibility for Kempower’s regional projects. This underlines our commitment to providing scalable, reliable and modular charging infrastructure across Southeast Asia.

A multi-purpose facility for scalable growth
The facility will act as a multi-purpose centre supporting the entire lifecycle of Kempower’s charging systems. It will manage the storage of new equipment and spare parts, the pre-assembly of modular solutions, product repairs and refurbishments and the reverse logistics process for returned components. A dedicated test bed will ensure interoperability between control units, satellites and communication systems, enabling seamless on-site deployment. The site is also prepared for the future integration of a battery energy storage system (BESS), reflecting WBG and Kempower’s joint commitment to a modular and scalable energy infrastructure.
The facility will serve as a regional training centre, providing local technicians with the skills and knowledge required to install, service and maintain Kempower’s high-power charging systems throughout their lifecycle.
Power for the Hanoi-Singapore Express Highway
Kempower is proud to play a leading role in the Hanoi-Singapore Express Highway, one of the most ambitious e-charging initiatives in Southeast Asia. The project, which spans Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore, supports long-distance electric vehicle transport through a network of 13 Kempower-equipped charging stations installed in collaboration with our regional partners.
Of the 13 Kempower-equipped charging stations developed with the help of regional partners along the corridor, one of the most strategic stations on the route is located in Tangkak, Malaysia. With a Kempower 400kW charging system and consistently high utilisation, it plays a critical role in connecting Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. To support our operations at this site, WBG, led by Kempower, provided on-site engineering, installation and service to ensure high uptime, smooth operations and a reliable customer experience.
This site is a good example of how Kempower’s modular technology, combined with regional execution by trusted partners like WBG, is enabling real electrification across South East Asia.
Supporting Kempower’s growth with strong local expertise
As Kempower continues to grow across Southeast Asia, WBG plays a key role in providing local support. Their technical expertise – from project coordination to technical planning and service – helps to ensure that our charging solutions are deployed smoothly and operate reliably in the field. Thanks to their ability to adapt the technology to regional conditions, we can act faster and respond better to our customers’ needs.
Strengthening Kempower’s presence in Southeast Asia
With this new facility, Kempower can offer more responsive, locally anchored support to fleets, charge point operators, and infrastructure developers across the region. It is a concrete step in building a stronger service network and reflects our long-term commitment to supporting the transition to electric transport throughout Southeast Asia.
