Kempower Training: Building expertise for reliable charging

When a charger stops, operations stop with it. For charge point and fleet operators, every minute of downtime costs money, which is why the people who install, maintain and service charging infrastructure matter as much as the hardware itself.

Kempower Training gives partners and customers the knowledge to work on Kempower solutions confidently and safely. Teams that master Kempower standards respond to incidents faster, keep workflows running smoothly, and keep their infrastructure reliable and efficient.

Two ways to build Kempower expertise

Kempower charging equipment can only be installed, commissioned and maintained by Kempower certified technicians. The training services provide two routes to choose from depending on the needs.

Kempower Academy is an e-learning platform for self-paced study. It is an easy, scalable way to train technicians across your organisation, with recorded training videos, learning materials, certification exams and trainee account management. Certified trainees gain access to Kempower technical documentation.

Kempower instructor-led training brings your key technical personnel together with Kempower trainers, online or at our training facilities, where they work hands-on with real Kempower equipment. Courses are built by fast-charging experts and lead to official Kempower certification. Following a train-the-trainer approach, participants return as in-house Kempower experts who can guide their own technicians and installers.

Whichever route you choose, your team gets the latest in-depth knowledge of our solutions, answers to detailed technical questions from Kempower experts, and up-to-date service documentation.

4tronic becomes the first advanced Kempower MCS trained partner

In September, our UK service partner 4tronic, with whom we have been working together at DP World’s London Gateway port terminal for the past few years, travelled to Finland for their second Kempower training session. This time they completed the Kempower Megawatt Charging System (MCS) service and maintenance training at our Lahti Training Centre.

The training covered everything needed to install, maintain and service the chargers, giving the 4tronic team a complete understanding of the system inside and out.

Most importantly, the training focused on rapid fault-finding. In a port environment, reaction time and uptime are everything: heavy equipment has to keep moving, and a charger that is down for hours can hold up operations across the terminal.

“As a UK service partner to Kempower, we have developed a close and collaborative working relationship, with the support provided by Kempower, and design, installation and maintenance services supplied by 4tronic, it has proven to be a highly successful team providing integrated charging solutions in the marine environment”, said 4tronic’s Director Brendan McAllister.

“Returning to Kempower’s Lahti Training Centre for the advanced MCS course was a great experience. The facilities and training programme have developed significantly since our first visit, and the hands-on approach gave our engineers a deeper understanding of MCS technology and fault-finding techniques. This expertise helps us continue delivering the highest levels of service and uptime for Kempower customers”, concluded McAllister.

Get your team trained

Like 4tronic, your technicians can be ready to keep your chargers running when it counts. Training services can be ordered through the Kempower Support Portal or together with a new charging system order.

In addition to Finland, we arrange training sessions in Düsseldorf, Germany; Nannestad, Norway; and Durham, North Carolina, USA. Training in Bedford, UK, will be kicked off this year.
