Powering Denmark’s green future: Kempower and GodEnergi forge a partnership driving zero-emission transport across the Nordics

Finnish manufacturer of DC fast charging systems Kempower and Danish electric mobility infrastructure provider GodEnergi have built a powerful alliance that blends cutting-edge technology with deep local expertise and a shared vision for sustainability. Together, they’ve delivered landmark projects that not only meet evolving market demands but also align with ambitious government goals – setting new standards for innovation and impact in the energy sector.

GodEnergi, founded by Jan Darville in 2010, is a leading specialist in infrastructure for electric transport, driving innovation and sustainability across the Nordic region. With over 15 years of experience in e-transport solutions, the company has established itself as a trusted partner for businesses and municipalities alike.

GodEnergi offers extensive e-transport charging infrastructure across the Nordics—including Denmark, Sweden, and Norway – with over 7,000 charging points installed. Of these, more than 1,500 are DC fast chargers specifically designed to support the needs of heavy transport, B2B customers, and the public sector. This expertise ensures reliable, high-performance charging infrastructure that empowers fleets, public transport, and logistics to operate efficiently and sustainably. As a trusted partner of Kempower, 80% of GodEnergi’s installations are produced with Kempower solutions.

What sets GodEnergi apart is its ability to deliver end-to-end solutions. The company listens, advises, sketches, designs, and implements the entire solution – from initial concepts to fully operational systems. This includes traffic measures such as lighting, road markings, and bollards – forming the “special DNA” of GodEnergi. The company relies on its own team of project managers, electricians, and contractors to guarantee high-quality results. In addition, GodEnergi has a dedicated service department that monitors and maintains all installed charging stations, providing 24/7 support. The technicians in this department are factory-trained on Kempower charging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and rapid response to deliver a best-in-class user experience.

A successful partnership journey

Kempower and GodEnergi joined forces in 2022, with GodEnergi officially becoming Kempower’s trusted sales and service partner in early 2023. From the outset, the partnership aimed to introduce a cutting-edge Nordic charging solution to the market—prioritizing high uptime, exceptional reliability, and top-tier service.

“Kempower was the natural choice as a partner for GodEnergi, thanks to its strong Nordic brand, premium quality, robust technical setup, and seamless access to support,” says Jan Darville, owner and CEO of GodEnergi.

Kempower’s advanced software and collaborative approach further strengthened the relationship, creating a foundation for success. What truly sets this partnership apart is the shared mindset and ambition. Kempower and GodEnergi work hand in hand, combining expertise and vision to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market.

One of the first major milestones for the partnership was the creation of Europe’s largest charging station for electric buses. Located in Aalborg in northern Denmark, the facility can charge a total of 124 electric buses simultaneously.

Another major milestone was GodEnergi joining a historic initiative to build charging infrastructure for electric trucks. As part of this agreement, GodEnergi is equipping Danske Fragtmænd’s 27 truck depots with Kempower charging solutions—enabling nationwide electric truck operations across Denmark. Remarkably, half of the installations are already complete.

Driving electrification forward in Denmark

The transition to electric transport in Denmark is supported by attractive financial schemes, including the state’s largest subsidy program for truck electrification. GodEnergi leverages its extensive industry expertise and strong relationships to align sales and marketing strategies with these initiatives. By adapting to evolving political frameworks and market conditions, the company ensures it remains at the forefront of sustainable transport solutions – ready to help customers take full advantage of available subsidies. Through this, GodEnergi is ready to meet the state’s largest subsidy scheme for the electrification of trucks.

Partnership impact & achievements

The partnership between Kempower and GodEnergi has constantly evolved, as in a pioneering collaboration, GodEnergi, together with Kempower, has delivered a series of high-impact electric vehicle charging solutions across Denmark – setting new benchmarks for sustainable logistics and public transport infrastructure.

Through the partnership, GodEnergi has seen consistent improvements across all key performance areas.

Uptime has increased, fault response times have shortened, and installation processes have become more efficient. In addition, cost reductions and enhanced network availability have contributed to stronger operational performance. These advancements have also supported revenue growth, underscoring the tangible benefits of collaboration,’’ says Darville.

It is clear that Kempower continues to evolve, driving ongoing progress and delivering measurable value to GodEnergi.

Electrifying logistics: Danske Fragtmænd’s first of 27 charging cites

In a historic initiative, GodEnergi and Kempower have equipped 27 strategic locations across Denmark with cutting-edge charging infrastructure in 2024 – making electric trucking not just possible, but practical. The first of these sites, launched in Aalborg for Danske Fragtmænd, features a drive-through design that ensures a safe and efficient workplace. Delivering up to 600 km of range per hour, the site’s infrastructure is ready to double its capacity, setting up a new benchmark for logistics electrification

At the core of this transformation is Kempower technology, delivering reliable, scalable, and high-performance charging solutions. Each location has been tailored to local conditions to provide drivers with the best possible working environment, enabled by Kempower’s flexible system. The opening in Aalborg was honored by the Danish Minister of Transportation, underscoring the national importance of this project and its role in empowering fleet operators to transition confidently to electric mobility.
