Kempower collaborates with JET Charge to fast-track the Australian EV transition

Kempower and JET Charge, Australia’s largest EV charging infrastructure specialist, are working together to support and quicken the take-up of electric vehicles in Australia. By supplying Kempower’s DC fast-charging solutions, the companies will accelerate the country’s transportation sector to a low cost, zero-emissions future.

Currently, less than 2% of new vehicles sold in Australia are electric. In November 2021, the Australian government announced a new AU$250 million (US$ 185 million) plan to incentivize electric mobility in the country. This strategy includes partnering with private enterprises to accelerate the rollout of 50,000 EV charging and hydrogen refueling stations. The government expects the sale of battery electric or plug-in hybrid electric to increase to 30% by 2030 due to the new plan being successfully implemented.

The ambitious plan requires experienced businesses to drive the transition and supply user-centric products. Kempower’s DC fast-charging solutions will be a vital component of ensuring a quicker EV pick-up in Australia. By working with JET Charge, the companies will contribute to a fast, reliable and economical supply of charging solutions.

The collaboration between the partners started when JET Charge was looking for a movable  DC charger with an intelligent design, outstanding quality and robust performance. This search led JET Charge to Kempower Movable Charger, which offers 40 kW of pure charging power and has a simultaneous dual charging option providing 20 kW from each channel. Since then, the two companies have expanded their relationship to include Kempower Satellite and Kempower Power Unit, which are now being installed at major charging hubs and bus depots.

We’re excited to move into the Australian market and look forward to supporting the country’s EV drivers with our products and services. Our chargers are designed to perform exceptionally well during cold winter months in Finland, but also the Australian heat. With JET Charge, we have found a partner who shares our commitment to EVs and fully understands our value proposition. Being highly dedicated to the electrification of mobility, we will collectively accelerate the transportation sector to a low cost, zero-emissions future.
