ASTAG

Meaning:

The Swiss government has commissioned ASTAG (the Swiss Commercial Vehicle Association) to implement the industry program “Ladeinfrastruktur E-LKW” from 2026 to 2030. The program aims to help small and medium-sized transport companies (with fewer than 250 employees) switch to low-carbon operations by financially supporting the construction of charging infrastructure for electric trucks.

A total of CHF 20 million in funding is available under Article 6 of the Climate and Innovation Act (KlG). Each company can receive up to 40% of the costs for planning, grid connection, cabling, and charging equipment.

ASTAG, in cooperation with EBP Schweiz, manages the program — including grant approvals, monitoring, and communication. Around 150 applications are expected, covering charging stations for about 600 trucks, potentially saving around 40,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

Applications for funding can be submitted starting 1 January 2026. The program aims to speed up the electrification of truck fleets while maintaining fair conditions for smaller transport companies and avoiding excessive bureaucracy.
