Kempower Earns 2026 Sustainability Award
As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, Kempower is demonstrating how sustainability can extend far beyond the end product and can shape every part of how a company operates.
This commitment has earned Kempower the 2026 North Carolina State Manufacturing Leadership Award for Sustainability, recognizing manufacturers that deliver measurable environmental impact across operations, production and product design.
At the Kempower North America headquarters in Durham, sustainability is embedded into daily operations. Kempower has contributed to cutting 600,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions toward the goal of 100% carbon neutrality by 2035 and a long-term goal of zero waste to landfill.
To get there, Kempower has implemented recycling and composting programs to reduce waste, upgraded HVAC systems to improve energy efficiency, and transitioned to electric forklifts and company vehicles to eliminate propane use.
One standout example is the use of reusable wooden shipping containers for high-volume products, creating a circular packaging loop that minimizes landfill impact.
Beyond daily operations, Kempower’s product life is focused on long-term performance with a 99% lifetime recyclability rate. Additionally, Kempower actively engages with suppliers regarding the carbon footprint of their components to support customers in achieving their sustainability goals and building more climate-friendly solutions.
As EV adoption accelerates, the demand for scalable, high-performance charging infrastructure continues to rise. By combining advanced EV charging technology with sustainable manufacturing practices, Kempower is proving that growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
The 2026 Sustainability Award is a great honor in Kempower’s larger journey toward a cleaner, electrified future.
