Congratulations to Kempower customers Osprey, Be.EV, Sainsbury’s and Mer for being named among the UK’s top-rated charging networks
A Zapmap survey revealing UK EV drivers’ top-rated charging networks lists four of Kempower’s customers in the rankings. Osprey and Be.EV are rated among the top five in the large rapid/ultra-rapid network category, with Mer rated among the top five in the medium rapid/ultra-rapid network category and Sainsbury’s named the ‘Up-and-coming network’ winner.
Zapmap’s annual satisfaction rankings are based on the most established and comprehensive survey for EV drivers in the UK for ranking rapid and ultra-rapid public charging networks across the UK. Now in its seventh year, the league table is generated from EV driver responses to Zapmap’s annual EV charging survey, which saw responses from more than 3,700 EV drivers during October 2024.
Kempower customers Osprey and Be.EV were awarded third and fourth respectively in the large rapid/ultra-rapid network category, ranking closely behind Tesla and MFG EV Power.
Osprey remains a popular choice amongst EV drivers, having been a Zapmap recommended network for the past five years. Its latest hubs utilize Kempower’s high power rapid chargers and offer excellent accessibility, which is reflected in a high satisfaction score for the ease of use of its chargers. In 2024 Osprey rolled out more rapid and ultra-rapid chargers than any other network, now boasting over 1,200 devices across 380 locations.
Be.EV is a new entrant to the rankings this year with 579 devices across 179 locations, including multiple retail charging sites utilizing Kempower’s rapid chargers. UK EV drivers rated Be.EV’s sites particularly highly for customer support and value for money.
The ‘Up-and-coming network’ winner this year is Sainsbury’s Smart Charge. Launched in January 2024, Smart Charge is Sainsbury’s dedicated EV charging business that gives drivers access to Kempower’s ultra-rapid EV charging points across a number of Sainsbury’s UK store locations. In less than a year Smart Charge has opened over 55 hubs, providing more than 450 bays, making it one of the UK’s top five providers of ultra-rapid EV charging.
Zapmap also has a medium rapid/ultra-rapid network category, for which another of Kempower’s customers, Mer, was awarded fourth. Fastned, Ionity and Applegreen Electric were awarded the top three rankings.
“We are delighted to see many of our UK customers performing well in this year’s Zapmap ranking,” says Rolle Nieminen, Kempower’s Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland. “User friendliness is at the forefront of Kempower charging solutions’ design, with features such as dynamic power management optimizing the utilization of the grid connection, Kempower ChargEye and an over 99% uptime ensuring EV drivers have a seamless experience at the charging point.”
