Coop continues the rollout of public charging stations with Kempower technology in Switzerland
Kempower, one of the leading providers of fast-charging technology for electric vehicles, has entered into a partnership with Energie 360° and is helping the Swiss retail and wholesale company Coop to make the switch to e-mobility even easier. Electric cars can now be charged with Kempower’s fast-charging technology at five Coop supermarket locations in Switzerland. Further locations are to follow.
For some time now, electric cars have been able to be charged at 4 Kempower satellites with a total output of 350 kW at Coop stores in Haag in the canton of St. Gallen. In Dietlikon in the canton of Zurich, a Kempower Station Charger provides a total output of 150 kW. A further three locations have now been added: At Grüzemarkt Winterthur, a double-arm Kempower satellite delivers 150 kW each, at the Coop in Riddes, electric cars can be charged with a total output of 600 kW at a total of two double-arm Kempower satellites and at the Regensdorf shopping centre, seven Kempower satellites deliver a total of 1050 kW.
The charging stations are part of the Coop Group’s sustainability strategy. They were planned and realised by Kempower’s distribution partner Energie 360° in Zurich. As customers can charge their vehicles quickly and easily while shopping, the switch to electromobility is being encouraged. As public charging stations, they are also available to all other electric vehicle users.
Philipp Oppolzer, Regional Business Development Director Central Europe at Kempower, comments: ‘The collaboration with Energie 360° and the associated provision of Kempower satellites to Coop locations in Switzerland is valuable for us, as together we are driving the future of electromobility. The commitment to sustainability fits perfectly with our vision of an emission-free future. Together, we are setting new standards for reliable and user-friendly charging infrastructure that will accelerate the transition to electric mobility across the region. We look forward to further projects.’
By partnering with Kempower, we can offer our customers a flexible charging infrastructure that fits our use case perfectly. Together, we are taking the next step towards a more sustainable future by making charging electric vehicles simple and efficient,’ says Michael Gärtner, Project Manager for Electromobility at Energie 360°.
Further locations are to follow in the coming months.
