Comett Plus partners with E.ON and Kempower to electrify bus fleet in the Czech Republic

Tábor, Czech Republic – Comett Plus, the largest transportation company in Tábor, Czech Republic, is making strides toward sustainable urban mobility by electrifying its bus fleet. The fleet of e-buses is charged with Kempower’s DC fast-charging solutions. The company has introduced six IVECO CRW LE and eight Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses to operate across Tábor and on the Tábor-Vlašim and Tábor-Benešov lines. This move is part of Comett Plus’s broader plan to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote eco-friendly public transport solutions, with the goal of electrifying one-third of its fleet. The new electric buses are expected to cover nearly 1,000,000 kilometers annually.

Comett Plus introduces 14 Electric Buses to reduce CO₂ emissions

The electrification of the fleet is aimed at improving operational efficiency and offering a cleaner transportation alternative for 1.7 million annual passengers in South Bohemia. To support the transition, two two-arm Kempower Satellite charging stations and one single-arm Kempower Satellite were installed in Mladá Vožice, providing a total of five charging points. The Tábor site has 6 two-arm Kempower Satellite charging points, which ensure an even distribution of charging power and a high degree of flexibility.

E.ON supports transition with advanced charging infrastructure

Comett Plus collaborated with E.ON in Czech Republic to develop this charging infrastructure, ensuring it meets the specific needs of electric buses. “This project highlights the importance of tailored solutions to successfully transition to electric public transport,” said Jakub Michalec, Senior Project Manager at E.ON in Czech Republic.

Milan Kolar, CEO of Comett Plus, emphasized that the electrified fleet and efficient charging infrastructure support the company’s commitment to climate protection and regional mobility. Comett Plus’s initiative serves as a model for other cities and companies looking to adopt zero-emission public transport. “This partnership underlines the role of fast-charging technology in shaping a sustainable, zero-emission transportation network in South Bohemia,” added Igor Ban, Head of Sales for Central and Eastern Europe, at Kempower.
