Poland Launches Subsidy Program for Heavy-Duty Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

Poland has launched a new national subsidy program to accelerate the deployment of publicly accessible charging infrastructure for zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles. With a total budget of PLN 1 billion, the program supports the construction and expansion of truck charging stations along the TEN-T core transport network and at key logistics hubs, aiming to reduce emissions and improve air quality.*

About Poland’s Subsidy Program for Heavy-Duty Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) in Poland has announced the first competitive call for applications under the priority program “Support for the construction or expansion of publicly accessible charging stations for heavy-duty transport.”

Objective:
To support the development of charging infrastructure for zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles, located along the TEN-T core network, in logistics centers, depots, operational bases, and intermodal terminals, in order to reduce CO₂ and NOx emissions and improve air quality.

Eligible investments:
Construction or expansion of publicly accessible charging stations for trucks located:

  • Along TEN-T core network roads or within 3 km driving distance from a TEN-T exit; or
  • At or within 3 km of a logistics center (DEPOT), operational base, or intermodal terminal.

Application period:
From 31 March 2025 to 31 August 2025.

Separate applications must be submitted for:

  • TEN-T road locations, and
  • Logistics centers / depots / intermodal terminals.

Applications are submitted electronically only via the NFOŚiGW application generator (GWD), using a qualified electronic signature or trusted ePUAP signature. Late applications will be rejected.

Budget:
Total budget: PLN 1 billion, including:

  • PLN 800 million (80%) for stations along the TEN-T core network;
  • PLN 200 million (20%) for stations at logistics centers, depots, or intermodal terminals.

One applicant (including affiliated companies) may receive no more than 40% of the total budget (PLN 400 million).

Selection and evaluation:
Applications are assessed separately in two “baskets” (TEN-T vs. logistics/depots).
Projects are ranked based on quality criteria, with the most important criterion being funding efficiency, i.e., requested subsidy relative to installed charging capacity.
The lowest-scoring projects totaling 5% of the value of positively evaluated applications in each basket will not receive funding.

Form and level of support:

  • Grant, or
  • Grant used to subsidize capital installments under a financial leasing agreement.

Funding can cover up to 100% of eligible costs.
For project finance investments, at least 15% own contribution is required, reducing the maximum grant intensity to 85%.

Eligible applicants:
Entrepreneurs with a registered office or branch in Poland.

Appeals:
If an application is rejected, the applicant may request a re-evaluation within 5 working days of notification. NFOŚiGW will review the request within 15 working days.
