Osprey Charging unveils its first accessibly designed rapid charging hub powered by our technology
Earlier this week, our customer Osprey Charging officially launched its first accessibly designed rapid charging hub featuring our technology at Marston’s Paisley Pear pub and restaurant in the UK town of Brackley.
The hub comprises eight of our 150kW Kempower S-Series charging systems and features load-balancing technology, enabling grid connections to be optimized and multiple high-power chargers to be installed on-site. It also offers higher charging speeds without requiring additional grid power.
Accessibility has been fundamental in the design of the Paisley Pear charging hub. Our chargers have been positioned in a more user-friendly manner to support drivers of all physical abilities. Our charging cables are situated on a gantry, which carries most of the weight and makes it easy to bring the cable to a vehicle. The physical footprint of each of our chargers has also been reduced by 74% compared to the industry average, further improving accessibility and allowing space for more chargers. These chargers are some of the first of their kind we’ve supplied to the UK and are exclusively available to Osprey Charging for its quickly expanding public charging network.
Paisley Pear is the first of Osprey Charging’s new accessibly designed fast charging hubs to be inspected by independent, public EV charging endorsement body ChargeSafe. It has scored an overall rating of 4.46 out of 5, which includes the highest accessibility score recorded by ChargeSafe on the UK network.
We’re providing fast charging technology to Osprey Charging for over 150 high-powered EV charging hubs that will open across the UK by 2025. Our 150KW rapid chargers will be installed across many of the sites, which will be located on strategic A-roads and adjacent to motorways across the country.
Congratulations to Osprey Charging on the successful launch of the Paisley Pear charging hub! We’re eagerly anticipating the opening of the company’s next accessibly designed rapid charging hub featuring our technology and opening up e-mobility to even more drivers in the UK.
